1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes uses of Tech for Tabs that are not allowed. It is part of our Terms of Service and applies to every customer and Authorized User. It exists to keep the Services secure and reliable for every restaurant that depends on them during service.
2. Illegal, harmful or deceptive activity
You may not use the Services to:
- violate any law or regulation, or encourage anyone else to;
- commit fraud, misrepresent transactions, or falsify invoices, sales, time records or tip allocations;
- process transactions for goods or services that are illegal where you operate;
- infringe or misappropriate anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against any person, including staff and guests.
3. Guest and staff communications
Features that contact guests or staff — such as waitlist and reservation messages, alerts and notifications — must be used lawfully. You may not:
- send marketing or promotional messages without the consent required by law, including under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and CAN-SPAM;
- send messages to people who have opted out, or disguise who a message is from;
- use guest or staff contact details collected through the Services for purposes unrelated to your business with them.
4. Data you put into the Services
You may not:
- collect or upload personal information without a lawful basis and any notices or consents required;
- enter full payment card numbers, card security codes, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers or similar government identifiers into notes, free-text fields, custom fields or documents;
- upload content containing malware, or content you do not have the right to share;
- use AI invoice capture on documents you are not authorized to process.
5. Security and integrity of the Services
You may not:
- access, or attempt to access, another customer's account or data, or any part of the Services you are not authorized to use;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Services without our written permission;
- interfere with or disrupt the Services, including by overloading, flooding or denial-of-service attacks;
- circumvent authentication, permissions, rate limits, plan limits or other security or usage controls;
- share logins between people, or use one account to run separate, unrelated businesses;
- access the Services by automated means — scraping, crawling or bots — other than through our published API within its documented limits.
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please report it to support@techfortabs.com rather than testing it further. We appreciate responsible disclosure.
6. Resale and competitive use
You may not resell, sublicense or white-label the Services, provide them to third parties as a service bureau, or use them to build or benchmark a competing product, unless we agree in writing.
7. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe this AUP has been violated, we may remove or disable content, suspend access for the users involved or the whole account, or terminate the Subscription, as described in the Terms. Where practical we will give notice and an opportunity to fix the problem first; we may act immediately where there is a security risk, a risk of harm to others, or a legal requirement.
We may report suspected illegal activity to law enforcement and cooperate with lawful investigations.
8. Reporting violations
To report a suspected violation of this policy, email legal@techfortabs.com with as much detail as you can. We may update this AUP from time to time; the “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
